MR. ROARY (2013 G, Scat Daddy-If Angels Sang by Seattle Slew)
A big rangy individual, Mr. Roary took a while to come around, finally earning his maiden win after 9 starts in the Rainbow Stake at Santa Anita in June of his 3yr old year. At 4 he knotched the G3 Eddie D Stake in an exciting closing finish. The same year he was also 3rd in the G2 Eddie Reed Stake at Del Mar. At 5 he continues to be productive for his connections Kretz Racing LLC and trainer George Proprodromou. Through 3/26/18 his record stands at 22-4-2-2  for earnings of $248,000.    WIN THE SPACE (2012 C, Pulpit-Teamgeist (Arg) by Mutakddim)
This colt has shown potential all along, enough that he was shipped to Arkansas for a try in the Arkansas Derby as a maiden off of two 3rd place finishes as a 3yr old. He ran credibly but he along with the rest of the field that day were no match for American Pharoah. Bad luck and missteps seemed to haunt him the rest of his 3 yr old year and into 4 however he still managed a 2nd in the G1 Gold Cup at Santa Anita and a 3rd in the G1 Awesome Again Stakes. Still in training for client Kretz Racing LLC and their trainer George Papaprodromou.  To 3/26/18 his record stands at 21-3-1-5 $334,831. Win the Space was $360,000 purchase at the 2014 Fasig Tipton Florida 2yr old sale.

DANZING CANDY (2013 C, Twirling Candy-Talkin and Singing by Songandaprayer)
An easy winner of the 2016 G2 San Felipe Stakes (story) (video) at Santa Anita that win placed him solidly on the Kentucky Derby trail. Sadly for his connections, Derby winning dreams did not play out. After some time off at  4yr he racked up 3 wins including the G2 San Carlos and the G3 Lone Star Park H. Sadly an injury brought his career to an end too soon in the summer of his 4yr old year. His lifetime record stands at 11-6-1-1 with earnings of $700,930. His dam was purchased at the Keeneland 2011 Nov Breeding stock sale for $50,000 by GVLTS for his breeder Halo Farms who  raced him in partnership with Jim and Diane Bashor. Congratulations to all the connections!

   ROYAL F J (2006 G Royal Academy-Perpetual Motion by Kingmambo)
Originally purchased for the La Canada Stable he  changed hands multiple times and but finished off his career back with his original trainer, Jack Carava. Retired at age 10 after a remarkable career of 102 starts, you got to love these kind of horses! He tried every time and usually picked up a check each start. Third in the 2010 G2 Del Mar Derby, his lifetime earnings would be much higher but not for his constant "seconditis". His lifetime record 102-9-19-18 for earnings of $568,150. He was a $110,000 purchase by GVLTS at the 2007 Keeneland September sale.

FEROCIOUS (2011 C, Tale of the Cat-La Danielle by Danehill)
Broke his maiden at Santa Anita very impressively in 2014. He came back in the first allowance condition going 7f and dusted an impressive field winning by 2 1/2 lengths then followed that up with a 3rd place finish in the G3 Lazaro Barrera Stake. Sent to the sidelines for an extendend period he sadly did not return to his previous form and has moved on from his original connections Kretz Racing LLC and trainer Ron Ellis. He still is going at age 6 with his current record at 23-3-5-3 and earnings of as of 7/4/17 $112,180.  Ferocious was a $300,000 purchase by GVLTS at the Barretts May 2013 sale.Ferocious bay colt by Tale of the Cat out of La Danielle by Danehill

   SONGFORJOHNMICHAEL (2011 g, Songandaprayer-Silent Demand)
A homebred by long time client Katie Kennedy (RL Stables), "Song" looked on the verge of being a stakes horse before going on the sidelines in October of 2014 having just won 3 races, including a 6 1/2 length allowance score. Brought back 18 months later he added to his winning ways, but further injury forced his retirement. His dam, purchased by GVLTS, was raced by Katie and her brother John Michael who died way too young of cancer.  This was the first colt from the mare and Katie chose to name him in honor of Michael. Trained throughout his career by Dan Hendricks he is now going on to a 2nd career as an OTTB. His record stands at 14-4-1-1

   AMERICAN ACT (2009 g, Quiet American-Revolutionary Act)
Stakes winner at 3 as well as graded stakes placed.
AMERICAN ACT impressed more in his courageous nose defeat to G1 winner Drill in the 2012 G2 San Vicente then the winner (Video and ESPN story). Heavy favorite and G1 winner Creative Cause was another length back in 3rd. Hopes were high after AMERICAN ACT broke his maiden in his 3rd start in January of 2012 in a very impressive mannor. Running 2nd that day was the well regarded Bodemeister who came back to break his maiden by 9 lengths and ran an impressive 2nd in the Kentucky Derby. After some lengthly time off at the end of his 3yr old year he has not been able to recapture his 3yr old form but still was a hard trier and picking up checks at age 8. To 12/29/15 his record sits at 43-2-13-3 with $239,717 in earnings. American Act was a $45,000 purchase by GVLTS at the 2010 Keeneland September Sale.

   SUNDAY DRESS (2002 F General Meeting-Chocolate Sunday)
Purchased by GVLTS for Nick Alexander at the 2002 Barretts mixed sale as a weanling for $50,000, not only did she turn out to be a good racemare placing in a stake and earning $206,615 for an overall career total of 25-5-8-6, she became a stakes producer when her daughter SUNDAY RULES by Tribal Rule won the $150,000 Generous Portion for CalBreds at the 2013 Del Mar Race Meet. She followed that up with 3 other stakes wins restricted to CA Breds and a win in the 2015 Great Lady M Stakes (G2). To 2/5/16 her career totals are 9-8-0-1 for earnings of $534,840. CARSON JEN (1996, f, Carson City-Calamitous Jen)
Wow what a story she has turned out to be! Carson Jen, was purchased by Gayle Van Leer for $170,000 at the 1999 Kee Nov Sale as a racing/broodmare prospect. She successfully continued on her racing career parlaying her 4 previous allowance starts into placing in multiple stakes for client RL Stables. She retired with a 17-4-4-3 record and earnings of $137,425. RL Stables not being breeders sold her privately as a broodmare prospect at the end of her racing career. From there she has developed into truly a "blue hen" broodmare producing E Z WARRIOR winner of the Hollywood Juvenile Championship S. G3 as well as placing in the King's Bishop G1 for lifetime earnings of $238,468, A Z WARRIOR who won the Frizette Stakes G1 at 2 and placed in the G1 Santa Anita Oaks at 3 for lifetime earnings of $286,906, JOJO WARRIOR winner of the G2 Summertime Oaks and the Torrey Pines S. G3 earnings of $396,231, and J Z WARRIOR $342,123,   Congratulations Zayat Stables and all the connections of this fine mare.

TENANGO (2010 G Lion Heart - Ochi Chernye by Mr. Greeley)
GVLTS had shortlisted this horse in the May 2012 Barretts 2yr old sale where he sold for $40,000 but the client did not like the fact he was a gelding. Racing in maiden allowance company in Northern California where he was only off the board once in 6 starts, his connections dropped him into a M$50,000 at Santa Anita in January of 2013 where he won impressively. Purchased by GVLTS off that win for Lawrence Roman who turned him over to his trainer David Jacobson in New York, he has been stakes placed four times including the General George (G3). He retired with a record of 34-6-10-4 and earnings of $440,416. He had earned $48,000 in his first 7 starts for his previous owners.

RUNAWAY DANCER (1999 g Runaway Groom-Salsa Dancer) The exploits of RUNAWAY DANCER for RL Stable and their trainer Dan Hendricks and the fact he stayed in training so long were quite rewarding. Purchased by Gayle Van Leer in June of 2003 for $50,000 and also managed for his connections, he found his place in distance races on the turf. This horse was a model of consistency racing through his 8 year old season while earning $852,040 in 44 starts. Along the way he won the 2007 running of the Sunset Handicap G2, 2005 $350,000 Jim Murray Handicap G3, 2004 $139,250 Carleton F. Burke H.    IZSHELEGAL (2008 filly Maria's Mon-Unkatzable by A.P. Indy)
Although a frustrating filly for her connections, 3R3 Racing and her trainer Terry Knight, IZSHELEGAL was 2nd in the Landaluce Stake at 2 as well as 3rd in the G3 Sorrento stake, then finished a troubled 4th just missing 3rd in the G1 Del Mar Debutante. After the G1 Oak Leaf Stake where she was 4th, her connections were still confident enough in her ability, despite the fact she was still a maiden, that they made the trip to the 2010 Breeder's Cup where she was unplaced. She retired with a record of 14-1-2-2 and earnings of $134,840. She was a $130,000 purchase at the 2009 Keeneland September sale.

He also placed in the Indiana Derby G2 and the WinStar Derby G3. He retired with a record of 4 wins, 4 seconds and one 3rd from 16 starts and earnings of $526,382.
