2017 R (American Pharaoh-Mighty Renee, by Maria's Mon)

AMERICAN THEOREM had been training fabulously prior to his first start at Del Mar on 8/31/19 and lived up to those expectations with an impressive score over a much hyped field. Looking every bit like a future Kentucky Derby prospect after his 2nd in the G1 American Pharoah Stakes at Santa Anita in October of 2019, he was also an early favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile that year. The heartache of a shin injury dashed the Breeders’ Cup plans. After some time off and one disaster of a start in the Rebel Stake at Oaklawn Park when he was rank and ran off chasing the eventual winner Nadal  the shin injury reoccurred dashing all hope for what looked to be a very exciting year in 2020 for this talented horse. Patience pays off. Now 5 and the winner of $200,000 Triple Bend Stakes G2 at Santa Anita l his connections, owner Kretz Racing LLC and his trainer George Papaprodromou are focused on an exciting 2022 campaign.
